Santa Barbara Beautiful recognizes important beautification projects throughout the city each year through its Annual and Monthly Awards Programs. From small single-family residence do-it-yourself projects to estate gardens, civic buildings, theatres, projects placing art in public places, and everything in between, these programs single out exemplary properties and the individuals responsible for those properties that expand the beauty of Santa Barbara.

Annual Awards: Properties are nominated by the public and judged by a team of independent local judges. The awards presentations take place at the annual, publically attended gala event. Monthly awards are nominated by the public, judged by standards established by committee and winning properties and owners are featured in local news media. Monthly awards winners then considered among other nominations within the annual awards program.

Santa Barbara Beautiful also recognizes individuals who have made unique contributions to the ongoing health and beauty of the community with the Heritage Oak Award for Lifetime Achievement; Jacaranda Award for Community Service, the Playa de Santa Barbara Award for Environmental Stewardship; the President’s Award; and the rarely presented Moreton Bay Fig Award for unique contributions to our community.
