2004
Arbor Day Poster Contest
Santa Barbara Beautiful is a
proud sponsor of the National Arbor Day Foundation’s 2004
Poster Contest. The five local elementary schools
participating in the competition include Adams; Cleveland; Cold
Spring; Franklin; and Harding. Contest winners were
introduced to the Mayor and City Council at the Arbor Day
Proclamation Ceremony on Tuesday, March 2, 2004 in council
chambers.
The national poster contest
was open to 5th grade students across the United States.
One winner has been selected from each participating school.
The five local winners from Santa Barbara will now compete on
the state level in Sacramento. One state-level winner will
be chosen from each of the 50 states to compete on the national
level at the National Arbor Day Foundation’s headquarters in
Nebraska. One grand prize poster will be chosen in April
to represent this year’s theme,
“Trees are
Terrific…
in Cities and Towns!”
Santa Barbara Beautiful would
like to thank the school principals and their contest
coordinators for supporting this wonderful project.
